Happy 50th, Dad

My mind has been flooded today with memories from my childhood. There was lots of laughter. I remember us three kids, dancing in the living room with my Dad to The Cars. He loves Classic Rock. Weekends spent at the cabin were filled with deep conversations late into the night soaking in the hot tub beneath the stars. Us kids would ask Dad anything and everything, and we would just talk. Fast-forward to my wedding day, when he gave me away to the man of my dreams. We stopped for red bulls on the way to the ceremony, just him and I. I will never forget those times. Those precious memories with my Dad.

And today is his 50th birthday. It is a day of joy and thankfulness, as I celebrate my Father. It is a day filled with memories, and anticipation of what the next chapter of life will hold for him. It is a day that I praise God, for giving my Dad 50 years on this earth.

I honestly don’t know what I would do without him. He has been there for me in so many ways, words cannot even begin to describe how to say thanks. I feel so incredibly blessed for the relationship that I have with him. He has been my solid rock for my whole life growing up. He is a man that I will always look up to, admire and love. A man that I respect so much, and who I still turn to for advice, wisdom, encouragement and prayer. I know that he will always be there for me, no matter where I am, or what I need.

So today, Dad, I want to celebrate you. Thank you for everything. Thank you for your unconditional love. For the way you have, and will continue to provide for our family. Thank you for setting a Godly example for our home, for your wisdom and strength, and for instilling important values in our lives. I love your corny jokes. I love the way you let loose on the dance floor, andI love it that you don’t take yourself too seriously. Thank you for being you. I love you so much, and may God contintue to bless you in your next 50 years.

Love,

Your Daughter  xo

I love the photos on this site – I stumbled across it thru Crystal Clear Boutique & made a few connections. Like Mikaeyla Barkman who is my niece Kelsey’s favourite cousin!

We should meet for coffee, Karen.
